At some point all of us have experienced waking up, dragging ourselves to the bathroom, looking in the mirror and thinking – oh no! Breakouts, allergic reactions, puffiness, redness, sensitivity, eczema, flaking… all of these conditions have one thing in common: STRESS.
Stress inflicts a multitude of (mostly) negative effects on the body and skin. This is a subject that I could talk about for hours but for the purposes of this newsletter (which we like to keep short, sweet and meaningful) let’s focus on how we, at Pure Aesthetics, can assist.
Stress suppresses our immune system which means we have a higher risk of illness. Our skin forms the first step in our immunity as it protects our body from external aggressors. Therefore it is imperative that we should look after our skin in order to support our immunity (but obviously not leave out the body too).
When I mentioned all of the above symptoms of stress, what I failed to point out is that they are just that – a symptom of stress that is affecting our body/ skin negatively. Treating from the inside out as well as from the outside in, gives our skin the best ability to fight off these negative aggressors.
